1961 JAGUAR MK2 3.8 SALOON,Manual Overdrive.

 

 

Just 5k miles since engine rebuild & excellent structure/underside.

 

 

Here we have on offer,a very nice example of the most desirable Jaguar Mk2 Saloon.A 1961,original home market,rhd 3.8 with 4 speed manual gearbox and overdrive.In dark blue paint with full,grey leather interior,it is a confirmed matching numbers car and is a largely,very orginal car in terms of spec.

 

It comes with an extensive history file showing pictures and bills relating to previous restoration work both to the bodywork and mechanics,including a full engine rebuild.Plus many more bills,receipts,old mot's and tax discs.We have examined the car on a ramp and found the underside to be in very sound condition,with no potential welding issues spotted.

 

The engine starts free of any smoke and shows excellent oil pressure readings both hot & cold.(It has covered just 5k miles since the rebuild).Water temp is equally steady when fully warmed up.On the move the original Moss box,gearbox is good working order,the engine pulls very strongly and the ride is very tight and rattle free.

 

The original Dunlop brakes pull the car up well and the clutch operates fine.

Inside the leather is in very nice condition,the front seats are one of the few things that are non standard,having been taken from an XJ40.Although they are much more comfortable,should you wish to return the interior to standard the car is being sold with it's original front seats,still in the correct shade of grey,as shown in the pictures.

      Another modification is the fitment of electronic ignition,which obviously helps performance and economy.
